My name is Jayme Cernicka. Today we\u2019re going to be reviewing how to change the weight on your cue. The tools you need to change the weight on your cue consist of: a scale, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcdermottcue.com\/billiard_accessories.php#mcgripper?utm_source=Blog&#038;utm_medium=referral&#038;utm_campaign=change-weight-mcdermott\">McGripper bumper removal tool<\/a>, \u00bc inch allen wrench, and an assortment of weight bolts.<\/p>\n<p>We have here the McDermott Dubliner cue that we\u2019re gonna change the weight on. This cue currently weighs 18.8 ounces. The majority of our cues can range between 18 and 21 ounces in \u00bd ounce increments, with about a \u00bc ounce tolerance built into that. Not all cues come in at exactly 18 \u00bd or 19 ounce, just due to the unique nature of the materials that are used.<\/p>\n<p>So the first step is to remove the bumper, which you can do one of two ways: by using both both thumbs and pressing against the side of the bumper to lift it off, or using the McGripper tool to grip the bumper and pry it off. This will expose the head of the weight bolt, which again is a \u00bc inch allen wrench. I\u2019m going to take the weight bolt out.<\/p>\n<p>We happen to have a 2 ounce weight bolt in this cue now.  So, we\u2019re going to install a 3 ounce bolt to add a full ounce and that should take it up to 19.8 ounces when we\u2019re done. You just need to hand tighten the weight bolt into place; you don\u2019t need to over-tighten it. Snap the bumper back in, and we\u2019re at 19.8 ounces, so you\u2019ve just added an ounce to your cue.<\/p>\n<p>For McDermott Cue, I\u2019m Jayme Cernicka.
