MENOMONEE FALLS, WI.—January 23, 2006. McDermott Handcrafted Cues announced today the introduction of the McDermott Intimidator Cue, the world’s most expensive billiard cue. The Intimidator is the most expensive pool cue in the world and raises the bar for a whole new level of prestige.
“When we first considered creating a fantasy cue like no other, we realized that it had to be more than just beautiful; we would need the finest components, and the finest craftsmanship. The final product was a cue that stirs the imagination and stimulates the senses,” said Claude Napier, President and CEO of McDermott.
This sensational cue is a three dimensional piece of collectible art that features four bold bladed wings that can rip a table to shreds. The focal point is a Genuine Italian Obsidian Gemstone Sphere, an extraordinary, flawless round-shaped stone set in the butt cap. Our designers started out with a solid piece of pure stainless steel weighing 82 pounds. After finely machining this piece over a year, the result was an amazing 9 ½ pound masterpiece. The Intimidator took a painstaking 1862 hours to craft. This amazing cue features over 210 separate inlays, 24K gold, Genuine Italian Obsidian, 112 hand polished Precious Metal inlays on the black Ultra-violet handle, and four winged blades.
“We set out to create the most expensive, one of its kind, extravagant gift or collector’s item that the billiard’s industry has ever seen,” said Nat Rosasco, Executive Vice President of McDermott.
The Intimidator can be viewed at here and is up for sale for $150,000.
